Meet the team
Our crew have over a decade of experience each as skippers, PADI professionals and in Shark Bay
Ed Fenny - Skipper / Master V
Ed studied marine science following a childhood exploring the extensive WA coastline with a nature-loving family. As owner of Ocean Park and Shark Bay Dive, Ed has over a decade of experience in Shark Bay waters and loves to share his knowledge of the maritime history and marine life of his home on every trip. When Ed isn’t driving the boat, you’ll find him fishing, diving and kite surfing around Shark Bay.
John Craig - Dive Instructor / Coxswain
After completing his masters in Theoretical Physics John came to Australia in 2006 and fell in love – with his wife, Shark Bay and the marine world in general. He gave up a life of physics to become a PADI SCUBA diving instructor and has worked all over the world including Indonesia, Egypt, Mexico and the Ningaloo Reef before returning to Ocean Park to develop Shark Bay Dive & Marine Safaris.
Kat Dodds - Divemaster
Kat comes from Perth and has been diving since she was 15. She's conducted research in Mexico, Exmouth, Hawaii, Townsville and Iceland. She came to Shark Bay in 2017 to research the Dolphins at Useless loop and loved it so much she now calls Shark Bay home. Kat holds the current record of flies swallowed, with 3 unfortunately inhaled in 1 hour.
Our Dive Boat
Woomerangee is a 12m Kevlar Cat and has been operating in Shark Bay waters for over a decade. Recently refitted as a dive boat "Wooma" is an extremely stable, comfortable and capable vessel. She can accommodate up to 10 divers or 12 snorkelers/observers, cruises comfortably at 22 knots with a max speed of 38 knots (although we slow down when guests have to use the head). The name Woomerangee in the local Malgana language means "Big Hill". Due to some amusing miscommunication between European settlers and Malgana people the name also graces the highest peak in the region, Woomerangee Hill ("Big Hill" Hill).
